Working to keep parks green, peaceful, safe, equal, and FOR THE PEOPLE
Parks for the People was founded by Skerton residents in August 2015 to campaign for these things in Ryelands Park, but is now ready to support, advocate, and provide a forum for those concerned about other parks, fields, and recreational spaces. In times of austerity it is essential to safeguard our recreational spaces. Once a green space is gone, it is gone forever. Parks for the People joins Lancaster Green Spaces in seeking to protect and enhance these valuable resources. It is particularly interested in protecting and enhancing parks, playgrounds, and recreational spaces in underprivileged neighbourhoods, which, for a variety of reasons, are often more vulnerable to closure, exploitation, and neglect than those in more affluent areas. If you would like to join us or for us to support any concerns you have, please use our contact form. |
